Yourself Windows 2000 Server in 21 days
Written by Peter T. Davis & Barry Lewis. Published by SAMS (division of Macmillan). This book is nicely broken down into daily lessons. It is very easy to follow and understand and flows along nicely. I especially liked the lesson on Active Directory. All of the new terms that come along with AD were introduced without making the reader feel overwhelmed. One caution is that it does not go into the depth that you would need for the exams. |

| Inside
Windows 2000 Server
Written by William Boswell. Published by New Riders. A very in depth look at Windows 2000 Server. Well written and very readable. One of the few 1400+page books that I enjoyed reading cover to cover. An excellent section on configuring hardware. The author does a nice job pointing out the differences between NT4 and Windows 2000. |

| Mastering
Windows 2000 Server
Written by Mark Minasi and others. Published by Sybex. Another gem from Minasi. Mark is one of the most knowledgeable technical people around. He also knows how to write and teach the material. This book covers all aspects of Windows 2000. If you are only going to buy one book for Windows 2000, make it this one. I look forward to the next title written by Mark Minasi. |

2000 Server Unleashed Written by Todd Brown and Chris Miller. Published by SAMS (division of Macmillan). Although not a book you will find joy in reading cover to cover, it serves as a great reference. I pick it up quite often to get some detail on a specific topic. This book is accurate and detailed. |

2000 Certification Headstart Written by Duncan Anderson and Thomas W. Shinder. Published by Osborne McGraw-Hill. This is one of the first books that I have seen to claim to be a certification prep tool. It will definitely give you a head start but will not fully prepare you for the exams. I enjoyed reading it and liked the writing style. Just be warned that you wont be putting it down and heading off to the testing center. |
