Windows NT in a Nutshell
Written by Eric Pearce. Published by O'Reilly. This book is a good desktop reference.  It is short, concise and well laid out.  One downfall is that  it gives you more of a quick definition of terms and does not go into detail on how to do things.  It appears to be designed for the administrator who knows what he/she wants but forgot where to locate it.  Still a good addition to your library as the price tag is reasonable.

MCSE - The Core Exams in a Nutshell 2nd Edition
Written by Michael Moncur. Published by O'Reilly. It includes Networking Essentials, Workstation, Server, Server in the Enterprise and Windows 98. Core exams in a nutshell is geared towards teaching you what you need to pass the exams. For each of the five exams covered in this book, you start off with a chart on the areas to study. You then go into a comprehensive study guide with nice explanations and highlighted tips for things to watch for on the exam. Next you get a nice section of Questions and Answers. Finally, my favorite is a highlighter's index that contains all of the key points to review before taking the exam.  Retailing for about $20.00, this book is a great bargain.

Microsoft Windows NT Server 4 Exam Guide -  2nd Edition

NT Server 4 Exam Cram Third Edition
Written by Ed Tittel, Kurt Hudson, James Michael Stewart.   Published by Coriolis.   Written to be an exam supplement, this book comes really close to being all you need to pass the exam.  Being the third edition, the material appears to be accurate and error free.  By far, one of the best exam cram books we have read.

MCSE Training Guide:  NT Server 4
Written by Dennis Maione.  Published by New Riders.  Great coverage of the exam material.  This book is thorough and complete.  Dennis does a nice job explaining the concepts in detail.  The only downfall is that the practice questions are a little weak.

NT Server 4 Personal Trainer
Written by Ed Tittel.  Published by Coriolis.  This package includes the third edition exam cram which is highly recommended.  It also includes some training/testing software which doesn't do too much besides add to the price tag.  The voice tutorials on the software are slow and hard to pay attention to.  Save the extra $$$ and just buy the Exam Cram book.

MCSE Windows NT Server4.0 Study Guide
Written by Syngress Media, Inc and Duncan Anderson.  Published by Osborne.  The book used to follow Microsoft objectives for the exam, however, it should be noted that during several years that passed since its first publication, Microsoft changed its exam format. Readers should review current objectives and requirements directly from Microsoft. There are inconsistencies and incomplete statements in this book such as Regedt32 program is mentioned, but Regedit is not. The book is not bad for guys who know the stuff and want to systemize their knowledge before earning their MCSE (MCP) but I don't think the freshmen will benefit much from it.
